Job description

Position Summary

Coordinate and assist with University of Idaho Extension Healthy Aging programs including Dementia Friends Idaho, Savvy Caregiving and others.

Help coordinate statewide efforts for healthy aging programs and assist the program lead with educational activities, reporting, and various programming across the state.

Responsibilities Job Duty Function Provide coordination for the Healthy Aging Programs by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Coordinating Dementia Friends Information Sessions and collecting reporting data.

  • Advertising for Dementia Friends and Savvy Caregiver program across the state.

  • Building and expanding partnership with aging agencies across the state.

  • Helping the program lead to organize and run statewide huddles.

  • Leading the evaluation process for programs.

  • Creating and managing a statewide calendar of all program classes.

  • Collaborating with Extension educators and partners to provide education on healthy aging across the state.

  • Preparing and submitting grant reports on a quarterly basis.

  • Working to establish easy to use and understand evaluation processes for healthy aging programs.

  • Supporting community efforts across the state to provide healthy aging programs.
  • Percentage Of Time 85% Essential/Marginal Essential Job Duty Function Provide state programming support by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Brainstorming and planning for a virtual conference on healthy aging.

  • Traveling for education, to promote programs, and to coordinate efforts as needed.
  • Percentage Of Time 10% Essential/Marginal Essential Job Duty Function Contribute to team effort by: Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Performing related tasks and other duties as assigned.
  • Percentage Of Time 5% Essential/Marginal Marginal Position Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • Experience with office and program coordination.

  • Experience with aging and health programs.

  • Experience building partnerships with state and educational partners.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Canva, email, computers and other technical programs.

  • Experience teaching adults and learning new curriculum.

  • Experience with professional communication including advertising, supporting presentations, and other communication channels.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in health programming or related areas (public health, aging, human development, etc.)

  • Experience with University of Idaho Extension, UI Extension programs, and land-grant universities.

  • Experience working with individuals affected by dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other related diseases.

  • Experience supporting caregivers and navigating caregiving management.
  • Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move program supplies up to 30 pounds.

  • Must provide own transportation for travel to other work sites.

    Mileage will be reimbursed when personal vehicle is used and pre-approved by supervisor.
